Amalgamated Security Services Ltd (ASSL) participated in the Nature Seekers Beach Clean-up Week 2022

Amalgamated Security Services Ltd (ASSL) participated in the Nature Seekers beach clean-up 2022 which occurred over a one-week period from 27th February to 12th March 2022. The Beach clean-up week’s main purpose was to remove trash and debris from the beaches and waterways along the 8 mile Matura beach stretch. Ten (10) ASSL employees participated in the clean-up exercise which supports a holistic approach and applied the ASSL motto “For Total Protection” to not only security but the environment as well.

This location was chosen because the Matura Beach turtle nesting site is particularly significant for the endangered leatherback sea turtles who return to these shores annually to lay their eggs. It is imperative for us as a responsible corporate citizen to care for nature and our wildlife. In addition to caring for the environment, we also made donations to the NGO with supplies including over 500 face masks, hand sanitizers, and garbage bags to ensure a clean and safe environment is maintained for the turtles as well as the villagers.

Amalgamated Security Services Ltd (ASSL) Pledges towards the Restoration of St. Francis of Assisi Church – Belmont

The St Francis of Assisi R.C. Church, Circular Road Belmont, marks its 120th anniversary in 2022. To commemorate this occasion, a fundraising Gala was launched, namely, the Belmont Heritage Benefit to have the first phase of the restoration of the church completed by May 2022. The St. Francis church has not been used for over ten years because of disrepair in and around it: a leaking roof; termite infestation and porous walls which made it unsafe. Designed by Irish architect George Coppinger Ashlin. The church was built in one year, back in 1903.

During a news conference on March 10th, 2022, at the Pastoral Centre on St. Francis church’s compound, Jose Nivet, and Dennis McComie said, “If we stop restoration works at the end of phase one, we don’t know when we will restart, because it took us ten years to get to phase one. This is why we decided to go ahead with phase two.” Phase two will cost approximately $5 million.

Amalgamated Security Services Ltd (ASSL) pledged its support towards the completion of this project. We strongly believe that both private and public sector organizations should partner with the committee and invest in preserving a vital part of our nation’s history.
