The 2018 Christmas event made sure that the children were treated to lunch, snacks, bouncy castle, face painting, storytelling and games. Participants got the opportunity to win attractive book prizes and giveaways, including stationery. They competed for prizes in coloring, reading, singing and talent competitions. Chairman's Christmas Speech and New Chief Executive Officer Appointment
Good evening colleagues and members of ASSL family our retirees, and the chairman’s special Awardees and our special invited guess
Tonight’s gathering in unique in several ways. This is a three tiered function designed to recognize
Our retirees
The recipients of the chairman’s awards
The inauguration of our CEO
The presentations will follow this order after which the ASSL family and its guess will enjoy the balance of the reception
So let’s start with our retirees
It is an undeniable truth that each and every one of us will have our time to part ways and this is the case for some 70 officers who have served with distinction and while some had over twenty years others had less time, it was a function of the age one enlisted . So I would like to take this opportunity to say thank you on behalf of the organization and I know you had challenges but your commitment and dedication stood the test of time and we salute you for your individual contributions and being part of the Amalgamated A team .You helped us build what you see today an organization with an unmatched reputation and an impeccable drive to deliver excellent service through our cadre of professionals while at the same time provide a safer and more secured environment for the communities we live in while simultaneously creating more secured Jobs for others wishing to be employed in our industry
In a short while each and every one of you will be called up to stage to receive your retirement plaque and a token with a hamper. I deliberated for some time as to what could be appropriate and then it came to me what could be better than to allow our retirees to still remain connected and the Alexia device was ideal and I would allow a demonstration to be done shortly so that you could appreciate what this is about…other additional tokens was incremental based on length of service with a hamper to start you up off your retirement journey.
The journey to date saw many changes and as we continue to improve and we would not stop thinking of our retirees and how we could serve them in a way that is appropriate. In this regards our retirement program saw a preparation from as early as 55 years which was geared to getting an employee at that age to start to think about life after ASSL and how they would support themselves as no pension plan was in place although several attempts was made over the years and only recently have we started on the forced annuity but still this has not trickled down to all. But like anything else this is all part of an evolutionary process and as we end up with a more mature human capital , I am sure that this will be of greater interest to all.
Lenore will speak shortly in as quick a fashion as she could and outline what is available to you so that when you leave this gathering that you would be in the know and we are here to assist in any way to get these benefits organized for you.
In my closing remarks to the retirees I would also like to point out the opportunity that exists for all retirees which is a specially created capital fund of 25K for any person or group who has a business idea with a good ROI ratio meeting the criteria of our new business committee. Greater details will be discussed with the interested individuals.
I can also say this was much more than I had when I started. Hard work with commitment and a will to be successful is the fuel that allows common people to obtain uncommon results
I wish you all a wonderful, joyful and rewarding future.
I say …….Believe in yourselves!
As for the awardees these are persons who have excelled in their individual performance for the year ending 2018 and like everything else if we don’t recognize them then as leaders we have failed in our duty .I had a difficult time this year in selecting as so many when compared were close and in some cases I had disappointments but never the less good work or excellent work must be acknowledge and this is what I am attempting to do tonight…..so let’s give the awardees a hearty round of applause when they are called on to the stage. As we endeavor to continue our efforts in our pursuit of excellence we must be mindful that it is like a circle which has no end.
Just a week ago we completed our STOW audit 2018 done by an independent organization and we once again scored 100 % and I would like to take this opportunity to thank all those who are responsible lead by teams under the leadership of Pamela and Cummings supported by our HSE department who worked tirelessly to ensure that we met all the necessary criteria’s
Let’s ask them to come up on stage and give them a round of applause
As I said it’s never ending and as this achievement has now been completed we are in the process of a stage two of our international audit being done by MSS Global for certification in three Standards:
- ISO 9001:2015
- ISO 18788:2015
- ANSI-ASIS PSC.1-2012
These certifications have not been achieved within the Caribbean region for a security company and we are planning for us to be the first
Finally the inauguration of our newly appointed CEO Pamela Hosein this would be the first major transition of leadership for the organization and I have had many discussions with her over the last 5 years in particular what my vision is and the attributes that I need in character and performance of the individual and while she has served for over 30 years.
A pledge has been created which will govern this new and succeeding appointments to the position of chief Executive Officer which will be read and become her canon of operation and leadership and ensure the legacy of the founders vision survives time. What I have outlined should not be confused as being a stifling of the individual’s own leadership style.
I ask you all to support Pamela in her new role as your CEO in the same loyal and dedicated fashion that I have enjoyed and that you acknowledge her pledge and hold her accountable to it in a most respectful and transparent way while maintaining your professional and ethical code of conduct.
And like all previous years I have a few words of advice to the Amalgamated Executive and Senior Management Team.
We are her to serve all our stakeholders and without team work and the right attitude climbing the success ladder would be much more difficult. We need to be much timelier an efficient in handling issues that pass over our desks and follow through is essential to guarantee satisfaction of outcome or task.
I remain your chairman and I will be available to continually guide the executive team and I will continue to operate my longstanding open door policy for all
Thank you and goodnight and May God’s blessing continue to shower us with his protection and guidance with good health always and prosperity for all …
Let me take these final moments to wish all a
Merry Christmas and a Happy New Years on behalf of myself, and the Aboud family
Please enjoy the evening and have a safe return journey home

AMALGAMATED SECURITY SERVICES SPONSORS ST. ANTHONY'S ACHIEVEMENT DAY
It was an evening of excellence, where top performers were awarded for their academic success, sports men were recognized, humanitarian acts of kindness were highlighted and educators were recognized for their service. The first of December 2018 was not only the first day of advent or the start of the Christmas festivities; it was the first annual St. Anthony’s Achievement and Awards Ceremony sponsored by Amalgamated Security Services Ltd. The event aims at further supporting the young men of the college in their continued achievement of academic and extra-circular success and greatness.
The feature speaker of the evening program, Dr. Michael Aboud (Hon.), Founder and Chairman of Amalgamated Security, remembering his time at the college and how it helped him become a successful businessman, stated that “The roots of true achievement lie in the will to become the best you can become. It's the reaching for the stars that will stretch you to the height of your full potential”. He spoke highly of his alma mater (St. Anthony’s College), suggesting that the school provided intellectual nourishment to his two brothers, himself and his other classmates. Some other notable names that are testaments of successes in life today are the Peake brothers and Louis Aleong of Albrosco in the area of business. In sports, Kenwyn Jones and Carlos Edwards for football. For creativity and unforgettable memories: Designer Brian Mc Farlane; Calypsonian Roger Mohammed; Chefs Jason Huggins and Paul Mowser; Musician Nigel Rojas - and many others.
“I started with nothing but a dream and the will to achieve. I adopted the attitude that nothing will stop me if I work hard and use my mistakes to learn from. ASSL is proud to give back to our communities in an effort to promote our children’s growth and positive achievements.” (Michael Aboud)

Chairman's Feature Address: St Anthony’s College – Awards Function, 2018
Principal Maurice Inniss, student body, teachers, parents and guardians, other special invited guests and last but not least - the awardees themselves, good evening everyone and thank you for this opportunity to address you on this special occasion to recognize achievements of excellence.
This function represents the dedicated and accomplished efforts of the many recipients from both the student and teaching faculties of St Anthony’s College for the year ending 2018.
It is indeed a special occasion to celebrate excellence in academia, sports and extra curriculum. The achievements of these awardees should be recognized and celebrated and I hope today’s exercise accomplishes that.
It is important for me at this time to put into perspective how the Aboud brothers and through their company Amalgamated Security, came to sponsor this event in its entirety.
Well
You may not know this, but I was once a student of this college as well as my brothers, John and Edgar. Owing to this, the designed logo of sponsorship includes the three-leaf clover, each representing one of us and a set of wording which I think is aptly used. This can have an alternative interpretation of faith, hope and love and in some circles it represents the trinity but whichever the selection, fitting to the occasion.
During our period and as early as 1969 form three was the highest form and only two buildings stood on the grounds then with the pool, and other buildings followed which helped to increase additional applied technical subjects in the fields of air-conditioning ,auto- mechanics and electronics to the school curriculum as I can recall. The founder was the late Fr. Gerald Pantin CSSP of the Holy Ghost Fathers and the college was named after the late Archbishop of Port Of Spain Anthony Pantin.
It was a private school then with the Holy Ghost fathers having the responsibility for its operations and it became an assisted school in 1982 I remember clear like day light, a function just as this presided over by then the late Archbishop Anthony Pantin when John and I received similar recognitions for academic merit. Edgar later followed in the same footsteps. And I am pleased to see that this tradition continues to date and more so, that we could be part of it, almost 50 years later. It is not often that one gets an opportunity to give back to the foundation that helped to mold them to become successful and realize their dreams. It is in this vein that the sponsorship came to life.
The words alma mater variously translated as "nourishing mother", "nursing mother", or "fostering mother", suggests that a school provides intellectual nourishment to its students and this is so true and is a testament of our successes in life today.
Other notable names to mention would be Don Ramdeen, the Peake brothers and Louis Aleong of Albrosco Ltd in the sphere of business. In sports, it would be Kenwyn Jones and Carlos Edwards for Football, Lester Cassimir - Cricket…. and for creativity you have Brian Mc Farlane for Costume Designer, Roger Mohammed - Calypsonian, Jason Huggins and Paul Mowser – chefs ,Joey Ng Wai – Second Image and Nigel Rojas – Musician from the group Orange sky.
As an institution we have been producing many success stories and I am sure we will continue. Along with my good friend, Louis Aleong, also an alumnus of St Anthony’s, we met with Mr. Innis and discussed a number of initiatives including my offer to sponsor this award which was readily accepted and this is how I am here today and hopefully for many more years to come, as we continue to develop the program to recognize excellence. I can also say that the development of the alumni is on-going and you can expect that many good things will result and resonate to the benefit of the college.
As feature speaker it would be remiss of me if I did not provide the motivation that is warranted at this time, not just for the awardees but for the whole student body. I have chosen to speak about my own life experience and what has made the difference in my life and the success story it is, as I believe that if you apply these principles, you too will enjoy the success of your own dreams. I started with nothing…… no that is not true, I started with a dream and the will to achieve. I adopted the attitude that nothing will stop me if I work hard and use my mistakes as a learning bed; if I fall I would pick up and work harder towards my dream. And, here I am today operating from a starting position of one Security Officer (myself) at Amalgamated Security to hiring over 5000 employees, providing diversified and integrated security systems, regionally.
All of this came through my learning. I have frequently spoken about how much I owe to the many inspiring, patient, passionate, strict teachers that I was fortunate to encounter during my years at this college. But you all should know that without devoted and committed teachers, you could hardly reach your full potential.
I say this because I see value in emphasizing that you need to respect and appreciate every one of your teachers and when they drive you to perform and make demands that you think are unreasonable, remember, it is for your own good and in fact sets the standard for your future performance. This was my case
It is also important to remember this story because it tells of starting from nothing and building something which means that every one of you in this audience has the same chance at succeeding in life. So I say to you, dare to soar. Because The greatest discovery one can make is to realize that nothing is impossible;
The can-do attitude will make a positive difference.
Also remember this ….
The roots of true achievement lie in the will to become the best you can become. It's in reaching for the stars that will stretch you to the height of your full potential.
It takes courage to embrace the possibilities of your potential and wisdom to recognize it. Having flown past the summit of your fears, nothing will be impossible to achieve and the strength of your achievement is rooted in the depth of your passion. To sum this up the difference between a successful person and others is not a lack of strength, not a lack of knowledge, but rather a lack of will.
So, your individual achievement today is all part of your efforts to fulfilling Excellence in your life’s journey and, you have only just begun.
This is only now being implanted into your DNA……. as a state through your vision, dedication and determination. Like a circle, the pursuit of excellence has no end.
I salute your unwavering commitment to outstanding personal performance. Please give the awardees a round of applause at this time ……..thank you.
As I sum up the foundation of excellence is built with the quality of actions which you demonstrated and which is being recognized today. Your future achievements will be shaped by the strength of the foundations you set. Thank you for your commitment to excellence and once again congratulations on raising the banner of excellence.
Your school, your principal, your teachers and your parents are all proud of your achievements including the alumni….so keep that flag flying high and help us to build St Anthony’s reputation and become the dominant or preferred college for other generations to come.
Teamwork and leadership at this institution continue to grow and develop with academic and sporting successes which allows you and the college to reach the heights of excellence and perform extraordinarily. I can also say that from my own experience Teamwork is the fuel that allows common people to obtain uncommon results. And if you join with your teachers you will achieve success beyond your imagination in your academic journey in life. As Henry Ford once said Coming together is a beginning...keeping together is progress...working together is success.
so in closing I hope that you would have assimilated and appreciated what I have said and if you take away most of it, if not all , your life would change forever. If nothing, remember… Have a dream, and the will, and know that you will make mistakes and when you do, pick up and work harder, success does not come without hard work and sacrifice. I wish you all a wonderful, joyful and rewarding future. Believe in yourselves! You are getting an excellent education so don’t waste it. I thank you the teachers for your part in molding these young men and the role you play as a member of the St Anthony’s family of educators.
Be firm, continue to promote positivity and maintain your discipline as you continue to follow you passion as educators in molding and shaping the lives of your students... I feel so proud of your achievements and look forward for greater achievements for our school – St Anthony’s College. Good luck, God bless.
Thank you and Good evening

“SIMPLY A PATRIOTIC DESIRE TO ASSIST OUR FELLOW CITIZENS IN TIMES OF DIRE NEED”
Those were the words used by Amalgamated Security Services Limited (ASSL), to describe the company’s donation of $500,000.00 to the flood relief efforts for affected communities and citizens in Trinidad and Tobago.
“We started by handing out instant cash donations to those of our officers who were affected the most. We then rented a boat to move Ambulance Personnel from South to Port of Spain so that we could guarantee our Ambulance Services would be fully functional at a time where it was highly likely for those services to be needed. When the full extent and enormity of this disaster began to show, we started buying and providing truckloads of flood relief items to the general population: wet vacuum cleaners; shovels; gloves; rubber boots; first aid kits; cooked food as well as non-perishable food items; milk; cleaning materials; toiletries; mattresses; clothes; school supplies. For the last couple of days and around the clock, many of our employees volunteered to assist and still are assisting in the distribution of those items to various regional corporations and relief centres as well as directly to persons in affected areas, with the hope of bringing relief to hundreds of our fellow citizens. This corporate effort would not have been possible without the support and contributions of Amalgamated Security’s employees at all levels.”
ASSL also is paying for a cleaning crew “who are going from door to door to assist persons in cleaning up their flooded houses. The company would like to further thank the many of its employees who simply saw other persons in need and started to cook food for them and helped them in their homes.”
Executive, Management and Staff of Amalgamated Security would also like to expressively acknowledge the unwavering dedication of its Officers to their jobs in daring circumstances like the ones our Nation experiences right now. “The Officers came out despite many challenges to fulfil their duties and protect ASSL’s clients and their assets, thereby contributing to the overall safety and security of communities and in extension our whole country. We thank the Officers for their devotion and professionalism”.

As proof of our ongoing commitment ASSL launched the Anthony Joseph Foundation in 2016 in memory of a fallen hero Cpl Anthony Joseph; a long standing, dedicated and committed officer.
From 2016 to present the Anthony Joseph Foundation has been dedicated to supporting the sons and daughters of ASSL as they journey into Secondary School by annually distributing grants to successful students of the Secondary Entrance Assessment for that year.
We are proud to give back to our employees and by extension our communities in an effort to promote our children’s positive achievements.

Our Chairman's Speech at Function
Good Morning to our special invited guests, our officers’ children who have been successful in their 2018 SEA Exams. Hard work must never go unnoticed so congratulations children for a job well done. A round of applause please !!!!
With your deserving achievement supported by the hard and dedicated work of your parent, an officer of Amalgamated security you have each qualified for the Anthony Joseph Foundation SEA monetary Grant.
Before I get into what this is all about, also allow me the opportunity to also say welcome to our executive and management staff of ASSL, Ms. Diana Guelmo, Public Relations Officer of the Chinapoo Youth Club, the organizers and the parents and guardians of these amazing children.
Like many journeys that you will undertake in your life, this is but one of them, a milestone which you should be proud of, and I am sure that you have made everyone in your life proud……. just as I feel as my son too, has passed his SEA this year.
Let’s give them another round of applause!!!!!! Thank you
Undoubtedly, this success could only have come about through hard work on your part and sacrifices made by your parents. Please continue the good work…. And keep us proud. A small piece of advice that I can give you would be……. Nothing can replace a good education and it will be the foundation to your future successes and dream carriers. Good luck in the future and always listen to your parents, believe me, they know best.
The Anthony Joseph Foundation was established in commemoration of a unique individual an officer who was dedicated to his company, his boss and clients and he never shied away from any task given to him , and most importantly had committed his lifelong carrier to ASSL and lost his life in a courageous act of bravery while fulfilling his duties. He was sadly taken from us too quickly but I have to accept that it was for a reason beyond my comprehension. I created this foundation so that his legacy will remain with us for eternity and that, we will never allow the passage of time to forget this fallen hero, as well as the others who have gone before us……. I pray for their souls and passage to heaven. The present theme for the foundation is following one of supporting the drive towards Education and in the future we will see a transformation to other equally important initiatives.
So in closing let me say congratulations once again, thank you all for coming, be safe……….Kids, open your minds and sponge up all of that knowledge awaiting you.
Officers of Amalgamated thank you for your devotion, loyalty and hard work God bless you all.
AMALGAMATED SECURITY SERVICES FAMILY FUN DAY 2018
On August the 31st 2018 Amalgamated Security Services held its annual Family day at the Five Islands Amusement park. Over eight hundred (800) employees attended the event this year where they were treated to unlimited park rides, food, drinks and dessert. This year it was particularly interesting because our health fair was incorporated into the series of events taking place at the park.
The ASSL family benefited from Blood Pressure Testing and Blood Sugar Testing. Some additional activities at the park included: Face Painting, Zumba, Yoga, Ribbon Dancing and Self Defense to name a few. It is our hope at ASSL to continue to boost employee morale and spirit through events and activities such as this. The Family day and Health Fair was a huge success and this would not have been possible without the participation of our most valued resource, our employees.

In conformance with the show’s tag line “Every Life is a Biography”, employees of Amalgamated Security will also share their success stories on air. THIRTY POLICE OFFICERS SHARPEN THEIR SKILLS IN FIRST AID AND CPR A PROGRAM FACILITATED BY AMALGAMATED SECURITY SERVICES LIMITED
Basseterre, St. Kitts, February 04, 2018 (RSCNPF): Some thirty (30) Police Officers from both St. Kitts and Nevis are better prepared to respond to emergencies and save lives after participating in a one-day First Responders Training Workshop held recently. The session covered the basics of first aid, cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and using an automated external defibrillator (AED). The officers came from several police units, however, most were drawn from the Special Services Unit and the Drug Unit.
The session took place at the Police Training Complex and was facilitated by Edgar Aboud who is a Director with the Amalgamated Security Service Limited (ASSL). Mr. Aboud described ASSL as one of the largest security companies in the Caribbean. The company is a sponsor and partner of the Association of Caribbean Commissioners of Police. According to Mr. Aboud, about two years ago, the company chairman gave a directive for training to be offered to police officers in the Caribbean region as a way of giving back to its partners and their officers.
As a result, ASSL created a program called the 'Amalgamated Security Saving Lives Program' where it offers Caribbean islands free training in life-saving techniques. Different levels of training have been developed and a number of police services in several islands have already contacted the company to have sessions conducted for their officers, including the Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force.
"In a nutshell the different levels of training and the types of training that we want to offer [are] first aid, defensive driving, coaching vehicle operators - [that is] driving techniques for officers whether it be police, whether it be ambulance, whether it be fire. We've also offered for them…a tactical level training that could go from three to four days where we take your officers and we sharpen their skills,” Mr. Aboud explained.
“So we do this level of training as well and, again the main function of this offering from the Amalgamated Security Services Limited is that we want to give back and one of our ways of giving back to our officers is this level of training that we do so, that when the officers go on the beat we want them to return safely," he added.
All the Police Officers received a Certificate of Participation and those who pass will get internationally-recognised certification.
