Amalgamated Security Service Ltd. and the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service hosted a book handover ceremony on Dec. 8th 2021 at the Police Administration Building, Port-of-Spain. The donation comes as part of the corporate social responsibility of Amalgamated Security Service Limited (ASSL) in collaboration with Professor Deosaran.

The titles are as follows:

  1. Education, Race, Class and Politics in Post-Colonial Trinidad and Tobago;
  2. Crime, Politics and Justice in a Multi-Racial Post-Colonial Society; and
  3. Race and Politics in a Divided Nation

The benefactors of these books were the Trinidad and Tobago Unified Teacher’s Association (TTUTA), Trinidad and Tobago Police Service, Trinidad and Tobago Prison Service (TTPrS) and the Trinidad and Tobago Defence Force (TTDF).

Chief Executive Officer of ASSL, Pamela Hosein, noted Professor Deosaran’s remarkable legacy, and she also shared that the company sponsorship of the books was “part of the thrust in upholding principles of Human Rights.”

Deputy Commissioner of Police, Mc Donald Jacob, expressed gratitude to representatives of the TTDF, TTPrS and TTUTA for their attendance and acceptance of the books at the handover ceremony. The DCP noted, that too often no attention is paid to research, as it relates to police management and crime, as the opinions of those who labour in academia are set aside.

Also in attendance were the Commanding Officer of the Trinidad and Tobago Regiment (Ag.), Ashook Singh, Deputy Commissioner of Prison (Ag.), Sherwin Bruce, and the Trinidad and Tobago Unified Teacher’s Association (TTUTA) Vice President Marlon Seales.

Archangel Ambulance Sponsored Ambulance at the MH Royal Shoot

On October 2nd 2021 Archangel Ambulance Services sponsored the Ambulance for the day at the Royal Shoot, Mt. St. Catherine Road, Chaguaramas.

The Royal Shoot is a firearm tactical competition for shooting teams around Trinidad and Tobago. Over sixty persons participated in the event which began at 8:30am and ran until late afternoon. Participants competed in five main categories which included:

  • Best Female
  • Best Senior
  • Best Military
  • Best Law Enforcement
  • Best Civilian

Due to the type of event (where firearms and live rounds were in use) it was paramount to have the Archangel Ambulance Service on standby in case of any incidents. The Archangel Ambulance medics are trained to deal with any type of injury, and thus was the most appropriate provider for such an event. This was the second event of 2021 held at this location and Archangel Ambulance is proud to have sponsored and supported this event.
