Team HOPE welcomes Gold Sponsor, Amalgamated Security Services Limited (ASSL)

Team HOPE (How Ordinary People do Extraordinary things) is pleased to welcome on board, Amalgamated Security Services Limited (ASSL) as its Gold Sponsor for entry into Neal and Massy’s Rainbow Cup Triathlon in June 2014.

Team HOPE is an innovative community based programme that promotes health and wellness for persons of ALL abilities. Fifty-two ordinary people (Hopees) have been training for the Rainbow Cup Triathlon over the past few months, learning about occupational therapy, visiting outpatient clinics and fundraising in their bid to help the Trinidad and Tobago Occupational Therapy Association (TTOTA).

ASSL’s Group Marketing Manager, Robert Baur says, “While we have been involved in various sponsorship ventures in the past, this is quite different and when we heard of the efforts of TTOTA and Team HOPE, we simply wanted to support in any way possible.”

Mr. Baur continues, “At Amalgamated Security Services we are strong advocators of health and fitness ourselves, within the company and outside of it. Over the past few years Team HOPE has successfully raised awareness and funds for many worthy causes. This year’s support of TTOTA ultimately aims at the improvement of life circumstances for disabled persons which is an endeavor that ASSL wholeheartedly backs up.”

TTOTA believes that every person, regardless of ability, should be able to participate in the things they need, want and are expected to do. “It is a basic right that many of us take for granted. A right that many persons with disabilities don’t always have, due to limited resources, limited public therapy services and limited access to public buildings,” states Team HOPE Coordinator, Priya Gomes.

Team HOPE would also like to welcome Bronze sponsors, Atlantic and Post Great Grains and acknowledge Ask Leadership Foundation for their donation to this cause.

TTOTA and Team HOPE is asking the public for support in raising awareness for this much needed profession in the public system so that persons with various disabilities can have access to occupational therapy.

ASSL awards UTT's top students in the Certificate Programme in Security and Public Safety

As a responsible Corporate Citizen and true Industry Leader, Amalgamated Security Services Limited (ASSL)  has played a key role in the development, evaluation and execution of appropriate training programmes for the private security industry in collaboration with The University of Trinidad and Tobago (UTT) and particularly UTT’s Institute for Criminology and Public Safety (ICPS).  ASSL has not only provided practical training for ICPS’ students but also funded this initiative with a generous donation in the form of a cash prize for Best Academic Performance in the Certificate Programme in Security and Public Safety.

ASSL proudly congratulates all 2012 graduates on their success and rewards the top graduates Ms. Laverne Lisa Gilliard-Springle and Mr. Ian Everton Miller in recognition of their outstanding excellence, superior performance and accomplishment. In 2013 ASSL continues being a major industry partner in UTT’s co-operative program by accommodating not only students in the Certificate but also in the Diploma Programme throughout their industry placements.

Amalgamated Security Services Sponsors Trinidad & Tobago Football Federation

In line with its ongoing commitment to being a good corporate citizen of Trinidad & Tobago, ASSL has become a support sponsor of the Trinidad & Tobago Football Federation. Our Group Marketing Manager, Mr. Robert Baur, handed over a 10,000 TT$ cheque to Mr. Tony Harford, Chairman TTFF Marketing. With almost 300,000 mostly young people involved in football in T&T, we consider this sport a good way of providing motivation and perspective to these athletes and their fans, hopefully contributing to keeping them away from criminal activities. The money will be spend to support the upcoming matches of our National Junior and Senior teams.
